COLOR DISPERSER by Rutger de Vries

Rutger de Vries is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice is described as Post-Graffiti Art. His work is audacious and based on his background as graffiti writer and graphic designer. In a recognisable signature, he is questioning authorship and the role of today’s fine artist. The RE:Search:Gallery invited Rutger to develop a site-specific self-built painting machine for the white-cube space. He extensively tested his installation, but the final result remains unknown until the moment of execution. With twelve fire extinguishers filled with paint in the three primary and three secondary colors Rutger transformed the white space irreversible.
