Alex Myers is a multimedia artist who builds otherworldly realms by breaking down and reassembling images. He creates surrealistic scenes by cutting, stretching, and disassembling disparate thoughts and ideas until they’re almost no longer recognizable.
Influenced by sci-fi and horror films, alchemy, and early Netherlandish art, Alex works with tools like Blender and Unity, researching themes such as violence, fear, mysticism, nature, death, and loss through digital deconstruction. Exploring the use of video game technologies in media art, his methods and materials change based on the needs of the project, fueled by constant experimentation and research.
Alex holds an MFA from the Frank Mohr Institute and is Assistant Professor of Interaction Design in the Department of Journalism, Media, and Computing at Creighton University.
His work has shown widely across North America and Europe.
