Bringing Natural Colours Back – Sofie Fazeli (2023) | 10.00 – 18.00 hrs.

Inspired by “The Bioremediating Missile” by Jos Volkers, a large seed bomb in the form of a V-2 rocket, Sofie created clay chains filled with native seeds that will disintegrate in time and change the environment day by day. This will aid in bringing back the diverse array of nature’s colours to this industrial landscape.

Fleeting Presence – Rodrigo Aragon, Alexandra Breedijk, Shomisha Elaguani, Leonard Maack and Elle Meijer (2025) from 12.00 hrs.

The ice spheres, whole before melting, represent a person before departure. As they melt, the slow process of separation begins, the dripping water reflecting sadness and tears. When the ice disappears, a ceramic piece inside is revealed, representing the moment of acceptance. Though the person is gone, what remains is a piece of the person that has left: vibrant and still present. The empty space speaks of loss, yet the ceramic piece shows how from grief and absence, beauty and strength can emerge. This work reflects how loss, while painful, can also bring growth and renewal.
